We are seeking to recruit a commercially-focused, meticulous individual to join our team as a Purchaser.
Duties will include:
- Negotiating prices, freight rates, quantities and schedules with suppliers, and preparing costings of shipments.
- Identifying and proposing new products and alternative suppliers.
- Preparing Purchase Orders for suppliers.
- Submitting relevant licenses to the appropriate authorities as required.
- Tracking orders and filing appropriate documents on receipt of shipments.
- Monitoring movement of stock and maintaining accurate records of levels in internal systems.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- A Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in a business-related discipline.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in Purchasing.
- Cost-price analysis skills.
- A high degree of commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact confidently with persons at all levels.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Passion for internal/external customer service.
- High proficiency in the use of information technology.
