Hanschell Inniss Limited, is seeking to recruit an Assistant Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the integrity of all refrigeration, air-conditioning, electrical and mechanical equipment of the Company and provide support to the Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate must have sound technical skills and experience, with a focus on internal customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the integrity of all electrical, air-conditioning, refrigeration and mechanical equipment on site e.g. cold storage facilities and equipment, meat room equipment, and power-based lines and devices
- Undertaking routine plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Undertaking basic maintenance of company vehicles as well as of truck refrigeration systems as required
- Liaising with suppliers to obtain parts and supplementary services
- Executing the preventative maintenance schedule as required
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A City & Guilds certificate or other electrical/mechanical certification
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in a similar position with specific experience in maintenance and equipment installation, carrying out of preventative maintenance programmes and recommending, implementing and adhering to the strictest standards of safety
- Experience in participating in large-scale installation projects and working on rack-type systems would be an asset
- The flexibility to work outside of normal working hours, including on weekends, as required
- The ability to work in cold and wet environments
- A meticulous nature and training in safety procedures and practices with an understanding and respect for the importance of adhering to same
- The ability to interpret and understand plans, specifications, schematics and operating/maintenance manuals for systems being overseen
- A proficiency in the use of computers
