We are seeking to recruit a commercially-focused, meticulous individual to join our team as an Export Co-Ordinator.
Duties will include:
- Duties include:
- Manage international export shipments from outside the region to Barbados and manage export shipments from Barbados within the Caribbean.
- Preparing and sending Purchase Orders for confirmed orders to international and regional suppliers.
- Coordinate delivery with international and regional haulage companies for the delivery of empty containers for loading direct from international supplier’s warehouse.
- Coordinate delivery of orders from suppliers for less than container loads to freight forwarders abroad.
- Follow up with transfers from the various plants to the export warehouse to fulfil loading of containers, as required.
- Prepare and execute all export documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Process any claims with suppliers or insurance providers for damages received in containers.
- Follow through on all aspects of order processing – coordination of delivery from suppliers, warehouse transfers, credit approvals and system generated invoices and credits.
- Work closely with the Customs Department for timely submission of shipping documents, payment, collection of original documentation and coordination of bonded shipments.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Management or business-related discipline.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in Export or Logistics.
- A high degree of commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills.
- Action-oriented with the ability to develop and implement strategies and programs to meet the Company’s objectives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact confidently with persons at all levels.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- High proficiency in the use of information technology.
